iTunes U - Quick Start Guide

Miami on iTunes U allows instructors to get better organized and have each student in the best environment to learn! In addition to adding course media from Miami classes to your iTunes library, the iTunes U application allows you to create custom playlists, sync to your iPod, burn CDs or even share your site content with others.Temp Image

3 Easy Steps for Getting Started:
  1. Download and Install iTunes
  2. Create and Manage an iTunes U Site
  3. Listen, Read and Watch Content

Download and Install iTunes

  1. Download iTunes from Apple's web site.
  2. Launch the setup file and follow the instructions provided.
  3. Open Miami on iTunes U.
  4. Choose the "miami login" link.

Create and Manage an iTunes U Site

  1. Submit your request for an iTunes U site. You should receive an email when your request has been processed.
  2. Visit the iTunes U Site Manager to manage courses and users connected with your iTunes U site; you can also delete your iTunes U site, if desired.
  3. Using one of the recommended software solutions, record your podcast with suitable equipment that meets your specific needs.
  4. Enter Miami on iTunes U and upload files onto your site using the simple iTunes interface.

Listen, Read and Watch Content

  1. Go to your iTunes U site and select a tab.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • "Get" a track: this will show up as a new item under your "Playlists" in iTunes.
    • "Subscribe" to a course tab: you can find the course content within the "Podcasts" section of iTunes.
  3. You can modify your iTunes settings to synchronize your iPod with your course content so that you can listen to course content away from your computer.
